What is Hypnotherapy

boat at sunsetHypnotherapy is a form of psychotherapy used to create subconscious change in a patient in the form of new responses, thoughts, attitudes, behaviors or feelings. It is undertaken with the client in hypnosis.

Since 1958, hypnotherapy has been recognized as a valid form of medical therapywithin the United States.  The field has expanded and grown, with new techniques and tools being added all the time.

All hypnosis is actually self-hypnosis.  No one enters a hypnotic state without allowing it to happen.  Hypnotherapy is often defined as guided self-hypnosis. Using proven techniques, you will be able to visualize success.  We will look to find and release the cause of issues that have held you back, which will allow you to move forward toward successful completion of your goals.

I use metaphor often during our sessions.

Imagination is the language of the subconscious.

Your dreams are a method your subconscious uses to communicate with you. So we are able to create profound changes with stories and scenarios that visualize you moving toward and achieving your goals. In addition, while in a relaxed hypnotic state, we can speak directly with your subconscious.

Often the answers that the subconscious speaks offer important insights into the issues you are experiencing.

At Clearly Centered Hypnotherapy, my clients feel safe and relaxed as we enter into our session with the ultimate goal of helping you gain the life you’ve imagined.
